The mobile phone chip maker company MediaTek announced its first 5G modem called "Helio M70 ". And the company said that, would be ready for the commercial deployment in2019.
The president of MediaTek , Mr Joe Chen said that, the availability of modem for the commercial market will be start in 2019 and some of the partners are Nokia and Huawei. According to MediaTek, the modem would be available as a discrete solution.
Helio M70 would be a new radio modem for 5G and the upcoming modem would provide a speed of 5Gbps. This modem will also feature critical carrier feature.

MediaTek also announced that the mass production and the shipping will begin 6months prior to actual schedule. By leveraging the broad range of IP and chipset solutions, MediaTek can help ecosystem and customers roll out of device.
MediaTek Helio P22 is the first to bring the 12nm manufacturing process to the mid-range mobile segment.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 is going to be the first processor by the manufacturer to come with 5G connectivity.
